A tremendous success for the next generation of scientists

Congratulations to Dr. Johanna Eichhorn for receiving the ERC Starting Grant!

Twelve young researchers from TUM have received ERC Starting Grants from the European Research Council (ERC). With this funding, the EU supports scientists at an early stage of their careers. They applied with groundbreaking research projects and were selected by high-ranking expert panels.
One scientist is Dr. Johanna Eichhorn and a member of our cluster:

Her DynNano research program will interrogate polycrystalline energy materials for solar water splitting on a scale from nano- to micrometers under realistic operation conditions. With the gained understanding, the project aims to tackle the fundamental question of how nanoscale interfaces and local heterogeneities impact or even dominate the macroscale characteristics of energy conversion systems.
