Since 2021 Prof. Bettina Lotsch is a full member of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. The institution is the Academy of the state of Baden-Württemberg, seated in Heidelberg and by its membership in the Union of the German Academies of Sciences and Humanities it is associated with the seven other German state academies. They all aim to bring together excellent scientists from different disciplines, to promote them and to have an impact on society. For this reason, the academies support research projects and organize scientific conferences, programs for young scientists, and public lecture series.
