For the second time, the Munich Science Days FORSCHA took place at FORUM Schwanthalerhöhe – seamlessly building on the success of the previous year. With a new visitor record of 14,500 guests, large crowds gathered at the shopping center from July 17 to 19, 2026, to experience science and research, crafts and art live and with all their senses.

Over three days, the festival offered “wow” and “aha” moments – from AI and space exploration to health and future energy, as well as climate-friendly cities, microchips, and microbes. A particular crowd-puller was the Munich Excellence Mile: under the motto “From Quantum to Cultures,” the Clusters of Excellence BioSysteM, Cross-Cultural Philology, e-conversion, MCQST, NUCLEATE, TransforM, and ORIGINS showcased their research through a diverse hands-on program, providing an impressive insight into the breadth of Munich’s cutting-edge research.

With a research passport, young visitors could embark on a journey of discovery, complete seven challenges, and win prizes – an offer that especially attracted families. e-conversion invited visitors to explore the energy world of tomorrow in a playful way: through Solar Pong, experimenting with polarization filters, or a mini solar cell, the fascinating properties of light became tangible.

The experimental stations, workshops, and demonstrations were consistently well attended. It was a fantastic experience to connect with so many enthusiastic people and to see the strong interest in the wide range of topics from science and research. We are already looking forward to being part of it again next year!
