How is sunlight converted into electricity? How will quantum technologies shape our future? And what can a glimpse through a telescope reveal about our solar system? Anyone looking for answers to these and many other questions will have plenty of opportunities on 17 October, when the Long Night of Munich Museums once again invites visitors on a fascinating journey of discovery through Munich’s museum landscape.

e-conversion will be present at the Deutsches Museum on Museum Island. At the Research Playground, we invite visitors to challenge each other to a game of Solar Pong. This interactive exhibit demonstrates in an entertaining and hands-on way how solar energy is converted into electrical energy and how external influences and material properties can affect energy harvesting.

In addition, the Deutsches Museum offers exciting insights into a wide range of current research topics. All sections of the museum will be open, from the DNA Laboratory in the entrance hall to the Spaceflight and Agriculture exhibitions on the top floor. Visitors can explore 20 permanent exhibitions and hands-on science and technology experiences in a unique evening atmosphere. Creative minds can join workshops in the Maker Space, while spectacular science shows in the auditorium and live demonstrations in the chemistry lecture hall promise moments of amazement throughout the night.
