The Munich Postdoc Night, which took place in the summer, was a fantastic opportunity for networking and scientific exchange. At the same time, the successful event also showed that science is enormously diverse and thrives on the people who are passionate about it!

At the beginning, the President of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Markus Schwaiger, emphasized how important the great work of postdocs is for research at universities and how important it is to support and highlight it. Science communicator Kim Ludwig-Petsch brought simple and effective physical experiments to the stage in a very entertaining way. With outstanding commitment and humor, he showed that science is fun and arouses curiosity. His presentation offered exciting impulses for thought, especially for science communication beyond the academic world.

In the evening, they offered the postdoc community the opportunity to present their research. The scientific spectrum was enormous: researchers from medicine, nanomaterials, media and communication, pharmacology, engineering, cancer research, molecular biology, physics, quantum computing, epidemiology, genetics, zoology, bioinformatics, and psychology presented during the poster session. The prize for the best poster talk went to Dr. Prabaharan Thiruvengetam from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy.

e-conversion participated as an exhibitor and, together with other organizations, offered a space to get in touch and discover opportunities for young researchers in the Munich area. The event concluded with a science slam by six postdocs who took the audience into their world of science.

We want to thank the Munich Postdoc Network for allowing us to participate in the event, and we are already looking forward to a repeat performance!
