Early-career researchers in the e-conversion Cluster of Excellence are receiving further support: Polina Igoshina and Jakob Kukral, both students at TUM, will be funded through a Wübben Foundation Student Grant starting on 1 October 2026.

Beginning on 1 October 2026, the two young researchers will receive funding of €1,000 per month for one year. The program is designed to give scholarship recipients the freedom to focus intensively on completing their studies and pursuing their first independent research projects. Each year, up to 55 students from German Clusters of Excellence are selected for the program.
The scholarship program of the Wübben Stiftung Wissenschaft supports exceptionally talented and research-driven students in the final phase of their bachelor’s or master’s studies. It enables them to fully concentrate on completing their degree and conducting their first independent research projects. In this way, the program aims to enhance the quality of academic theses and foster early research achievements. It also strengthens students’ scientific curiosity and encourages them to pursue an academic career.
The next funding cycle will begin in 2027. The nomination deadline for German Clusters of Excellence is expected to be 1 June 2027.
