Insights into fascinating research, chemical theatre show and hands-on experiments
Welcome new e-conversion student board
We are happy to announce our new e-conversion student board
A festival about research
Our participation at the FORSCHA 2022 was a great success. Many visitors tried the hands-on experiments and attended the workshop on sustainable power production and the lecture on energy materials.
Welcome Prof. Fingerhut!
We warmly welcome the theoretical chemist Prof. Benjamin Fingerhut as new e-conversion member. All the best!
Mini-fuel cell uses the body’s sugar
Jennifer Rupp and colleagues have developed a glucose fuel cell which converts sugar into electricity. This way the body's sugar could serve as an energy source for medicinal implants.
“Ferien for the Future”
During the BMBF funded Easter holiday program "Ferien for the Future", the young scientists had a lot of fun experimenting with solar, water and wind energy. There are still free places for the Whitsun and summer holidays!
Guess and win
Find the right answer and win a USB digital microscope with a resolution of up to 1000-fold!
In search of the perfect battery
The e-conversion episode of the podcast "Exzellent erklärt" is now on air - starring Prof. Bettina Lotsch and Sina Stegmaier talking about the batteries of the future. Listen in!
Passion for science and diversity
In this interview Prof. Jennifer Rupp talks about a type of battery that might revolutionize e-mobility, her current projects and her heartfelt wish to promote diversity in academia and industry.
Welcome Prof. Marc Willinger!
With Prof. Willinger e-conversion could win an excellent expert on electron microscopy. We wish him and his family a good start in Munich and all the best for his research!
Conference for young nanoscientists
Want to listen and talk to two nanoscience Nobel laureates??? Then join the International Nanoscience Students Conference in Munich with talks, poster sessions, workshops, an opportunity fair,...
Facts about (Artificial) Photosynthesis
In this video e-conversion member Prof. Dario Leister explains his research on artificial photosynthesis and how this idea might open up a new energy source.
Off to new shores
Two of our members accepted calls from other universities. Prof. Harald Oberhofer moved to Bayreuth, Prof. Stefan Maier starts down under at Monash University close to Melbourne. All the best!
Working like a real scientist
This spring nearly 500 high school students are taking part in the joint school program of e-conversion and TUMjunior to get an impression of how research works.
Quantum physics, Climate & Aging
Wondering about this title? These are the topics of the last three episodes of "Exzellent Erklärt" - the podcast of the German Clusters of Excellence. Listen in!
Outstanding theoretical chemist
Prof. Frank Neese was awarded the Schrödinger medal 2022 by the World Association of Theoretical and Computational Chemists.
